A new exhibition by Jennifer Rugge opens September 29 at Hat Ranch Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. The exhibition features natural hand-mixed mineral oil paintings with gold leaf application and will be on display until 27 October.
In the exhibition ‘Reclaiming Our Ancestral Roots’, Jennifer Rugge explores the world of the Ancients, inter-twining the mystery surrounding their art, techniques and early language roots in signs and pictographs. Rugge’s deep respect for our earth and all living things is expressed in her natural artworks created in a non-toxic studio.
Rugge is an artist based in Nevada City, CA and has been creating art for over 50 years. She developed a deep interest in historical roots and her exploration into the ancient past led to a recent journey to the outback in Australia to study the rock and cave art of the Aborigines. The study of Cave Art, ancient artifacts and the early expression of language through signs and pictographs, are the structures that heavily influence Rugge’s art.
“Reclaiming Our Ancestral Roots” exhibition by Jennifer Rugge on September 29th from 2-5pm will delight Hat Ranch Gallery visitors with a unique and compelling style across many creative fields. Rugge’s gold leaf application, ancestral techniques of Cave Art, and use of a warm and soulful palette captivates and envelopes the viewer with warmth, joy and awareness of the power and importance of our ancestral beginnings, of which we all share a common bond.
